Our PDX buddies, Camp Crush will be joining us and Billie Gale for a special Friday night show at Alberta Street Pub. It’s going to be a night to remember, so bring your polaroids and portable cassette recorders. Camp Crush kicks it off at 9pm sharp, followed by Billie Gale at 10pm, then Deepest Darkest at 11pm.
Let us strip for you – strip down the music to the meaty, songy parts. Nat and Nate will be putting together a set of oldies, newbies, covers, and soon-to-be-releasies. On the bill will be our longtime pals, The Hugs…basically Portland rock royalty. You will not regret this unique early evening of music.
Our long-time friend, Ryan VanDordrecht is releasing a new album, and we’re honored to be on the bill with him at his release show May 28th at Doug Fir Lounge. Also on the bill is long time friends, The Loved….so yeah, this will be pretty awesome.
THE BREAKING
Alt rock revivalists The Breaking stepped straight out of 1995. Mining the rich soundscape of mid-’90s guitar pop, the band draws inspiration from seminal acts like Failure, R.E.M., Soundgarden and early Radiohead, where brooding introspection gives way to anthemic choruses and infectious electric guitar hooks.
SURREALIZED (Seattle)
SURREALIZED, is a scintillating musical project by an ensemble of Seattle musicians who seemingly come from disparate disciplines. SURREALIZED harkens back to the synth-pop/wave fueled 80’s in one way, but crunches along in a guitar driven romp in other ways, while simultaneously drawing on dreamy, electrobeat driven, psychedelic anthems.
DEEPEST DARKEST
Formerly of The Carolines, Nate Purscelley has joined forces with Nat Johnson of Derby to form Deepest Darkest, a band grounded in rock history. Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Simon & Garfunkel are few of the influences, and the vibe is classic.
